1/2 of finale of Steelgrave storyline (original Moody Blues song used.) Sorry, I don't have more clips than these 2.
Es la la más emocionante serie que he visto .
LRH digging ❤💯👻
It warms my heart the way they're fighting one minute and then they get up close together and look out the window like theyre still friends and later Sonny hands Vinnie his bottle to drink from .. lol . Then that beautiful song ...
Ray Sharkey is one of the greatest actors ever that is the scene that stands out i bought the DVD set and heard lame elevator music but we can all watch and listen to it the way we did all those years ago thanks to you tube Ray Sharkey is one of the greatest actors ever gone but not we love you you are missed RIP
The writers did an excellent job. For nine previous episodes we got to watch Sonny and Vinnie become friends, and then brothers. That's what made this scene so good. They didn't cram their relationship into 45 min, or a two part episode. This scene is raw to anyone who watched the series from the beginning. Sharkey was amazing, and the director was amazing for capturing it the way he did. As a 30 yr-old the 80's are not my era. I didn't even notice the song that was playing on the jukebox until I rewatched this scene on UA-cam and read the comments. I cried regardless of the music, that's how good it was. These guys should've won something. It was a TV show for crying out loud! Who puts in this kind of effort for a TV show? Today's writers could really learn a thing or two, even from short lived unknowns like this. In fact, a lot of good stuff came from short lived unpopular shows. These are the jewels of Hollywood! This episode was so raw, I stopped watching the show. I don't know why but I couldn't keep on. It had to end here for me. Maybe later I'll pick it up again.
Just saw an interview with Jonathan Banks. He said that when he got on set for his part, Wahl & Sharkey were dead tired & had bruises. Said that they were really fighting for 4 hours for those scenes. Mind blowing
Reading the comments, we all agree.30 , 40 years later and one still remember this scene. For years I was thinking about Wiseguy and this particular episode. edged in my memory. So happy I found it on UA-cam. Been binge watching Wiseguy ever since
I always thought the original song was Whiter shade of pale when it was broadcast live on TV . And that it was replaced later by Nights in White Satin due to copyright problems. Do remember it wrong?
I was a 10 y.o. boy back then in China. When Sunny died, I didn't watch the show never again.
This was a groundbreaking TV show that doesn't get the credit it deserves. Unlike the typical solve the crime in an hour and there'll be a new crime next week Wiseguy gave us story arcs that got us more involved. It was gritty and showed the moral conflicts Vinnie had to deal with when got too close to the people he sent to catch. I have the series on DVD and it is still amazing to watch
I loved you, man ....... that's a history line between two friends and an unforgettable moment 😪
Oh crap 3 stargate actors! the girl too haha
Felger!!! :D
2:07 "I don't like bein' stared at". OMG, vulnerability off the charts! this scene kills me. Already knows he getting nailed by the Feds, stressed. But his best bud (albeit undercover agent) peers into his soul and he can't take it. Heartbreaking.
Probably one of the best performances I've ever seen
Polat & Çakır
RDA gave that advice to Sheppard's actor as well.
This is one of the very few Stephen J. Cannell shows I have never seen before, and intend on finding in its original format with the music attached.
Ray Sharkey owned Sonny Steelgrave. He was robbed of an Emmy. May his sweet soul RIP.
Absolutely. He was superb as Sonny
Only having recently watching Wiseguy, this scene is a stonker. The series is phenomenal with great story lines and actors. Better than half the stuff out nowadays.
I knew of when it first aired, but yeah. I also only the fast few months watched it. Great stuff!
❤❤❤❤❤
Vinnie terranova quels beaux souvenirs !!!!!

Extraordinaire. Vu en août 1997. The ultimate échec song
Fair warning that the new blu ray re-release not only didn't add the song back in, but they cut out the entire section where the juke box plays. Luckily there is a torrent out there that has all the original DVR recordings from when the show was on air, with all the original music.
Ray Starkey... God, what a talent!! So tragic that he self-destructed...
Such an iconic show. That first season was perfect. When Nights in White Satin started playing, I teared up.. because I felt what was coming next.. Though violent and horrific, Sonny went out on his own terms.
Wow. Simply amazing how this scene fit perfectly with the songs played. The best t.v. series ever aired.
I've never forgotten this incredible scene. I'm so glad I can see it now on UA-cam. Thankyou
Powerful! I remember it like it was yesterday ❤️ ....and I was so pissed at Ken Wahl for throwing away his career. 😢
Ken suffered a serious neck injury in 1992! Maybe you know more than I, but sounds like he never recovered from the chronic pain.
@@ThirstyEye It was earlier than that I think but in a way it was his own fault. He fell down some marble stairs in the house of someone else's fiancée!! Said at the time it was due to a motorbike accident because he didn't want the truth to come out. Unfortunately KW allowed himself to be caught up in the "famous" trap thinking he could do what he liked as not constrained by "normal" standards. This even though he always made a big thing of he was only doing it because it paid well, could give it up tomorrow etc. Just a normal guy. And so on. He didn't leave Los Angeles though!
@@wolfieears1984 Rodney Dangerfield's fiance, it was. I'm sure he was embarrassed about the circumstances, but I do believe him when he also states that he did not want to bring negative publicity to that lady and Rodney. And one can slip on stairs anywhere. No, infidelity is not to be celebrated. But *where* this happened is not important.
@@ThirstyEye I'm not saying where it happened was important per se but I'm saying it was RELEVANT to what we were discussing. The original comment was that he "threw his career away" and you replied that he got a serious neck injury as if that hadn't been a conscious thing to do but some random bad luck. And I said it wasn't random as such but a result of him being somewhere he shouldn't have been, carrying on with someone else's fiancée (i.e. risky in more ways than one and not something someone with integrity would do). I love "Vinnie" as a character and I like Ken Wahl but he was far from perfect.
@@wolfieears1984 Fair enough. I don't know much else of Wahl's work, but I'd recommend The Soldier if you've never seen. Rather goofy action film, but some undeniably impressive moments. I finally watched Wiseguy this year, dug quite a bit. But in some ways Wahl to me will always be The Soldier 'cause that's what I first saw as a kid, haha.
The best acting I ever saw was this scene. Vinnie and Sonny. I was shocked they killed off Sonny. This was the best episode when Sonny was on Wise Guy.
Una de las mejores series que vi en mí vida...
5:23 the best speech Ken/Vinnie made. Those words and his presentation are perfect!
Sonny made some sense in what he said . They were both right in their own way
The government are the criminals....how clearly we can see that today!
But he went overboard with the things he did. Sure the government has dirty secrets, but who's Sonny to act like the moralist in the conversation?
I really would've loved to see Sonny Steelgrave in prison. Than him dead they really jumped the shark when they did that.
Sadist much? Prison may often be necessary, but I take no pleasure in it.
I loved this show when it first came out and watched every episode. I never forgot this scene out of all of them. I just started re-watching on Roku channel. I couldn't wait for this scene to come up. I was literally shocked when "Night's in White Satin" didn't play! I still can't understand WHY in Sam Hell it got edited out! It was the absolute perfect song to play. Whoever decided to take it out should be tortured endlessly. Thank you for posting the original scene and how I remembered it.
October 2022 and this scene is still the absolute best written scene on a television series! I remember watching this with my sister when it originally aired... Not a dry eye in the living room.... The complicated friendship that Sonny and Vinny still stands the test of time!
I just started re watching this amazing series. At the end, when Sonny and Vinnie are fighting in the cafe, I was looking forward to the dramatic emotional ending between Vinnie and Sonny with Knights in White Satin on the jukebox. I was very disappointed when the song did not come on, but some quiet music instead! I looked at UA-cam and saw this video that included Knights of White Satin. I wondered if there was some kind of copy right that would not allow Knights to be played. I am binge watching Wiseguy all weekend now. BEST series of the 80's.
What a shame that this is no longer on video with this song. It changes the entire feel of the scene without Nights in White Satin.
This was such a well-acted scene. Sonny believed every word he was saying aa did Vinnie. This reminds me of the division today in our country of political parties where each side thinks they are absolutely right and the other one is totally wrong with their way of thinking.
Yeah I just watched this on demand and I was explaining to my friend that they will play nights in white satin and it didn't play and I didn't think my memory was wrong from original...it made such an impact back then.....but I thought I lost my mind..
I just watched all episodes on UA-cam. Was never thrilled about the fourth year without Vinnie
It was nothing without him. Finished early too, not surprisingly.
I always wonder why no one ever put this back on tv....I remember watching every episode and it all was pretty good but I always thought this story was the best of all of them
I just watched this on the Roku channel. They destroyed a masterpiece of a scene by not including the song, The Knights In White Satin. The weight of the moment and the emotional impact was all right there for us to see and feel. I remember being so moved by it and in this recent viewing feeling deprived of something so special. The series was great but the Steelgrave arc was the best part of it. Ray Sharkey and Ken Wahl had a perfect chemistry.
Saul Goodman could've gotten him out of it.
Yes! I always wanted Sonny to survive!
I cried like a baby when I saw this in the 80s went to school next day everyone said they did too .
If my friend from BT is watching this as per my recommendation, please let me know what you think of it!
Was great TV, The Mel Profit arc was also great. Down hill after
Ray Sharkey never believed that he had aids until the end.
Frank would never have been seduced into deserting his duty- that was just a comforting lie to console Vinnie. Actually Vinnie would never have been either even though that was meant to be the underlying theme.
